美國工程師 Ben Linder, 1987 於尼加拉瓜參與水力發電廠興建工程時, 被反政府組織 Contras 殺害.
Sting 有感於此事件, 寫下了這首歌.
2001 美國發生 911 恐怖攻擊事件時, Sting 正在義大利的自家莊園準備舉辦演唱會,
